SUCCESS STORIES

  • "Charles is AMAZING! After 3 back surgeries, and thinking a 4th was not far away, I went to Starr Spine Physical Therapy and Wellness. After having multiple rounds of physical therapy in the past, with minimal success, my expectations were low. Wow was I wrong!! My back pain was very intense and it was challenging and caused more pain to do household chores, vacuum, lay flat on my stomach or back and many more things. After seeing Charles for 6 weeks, my pain level has drastically decreased, and I can do all of the above and more! And no 4th surgery in my near future! I highly recommend Charles Starr and have recommended him to many of my family & friends!"

Charles is an amazing therapist - very knowledgeable, skilled, and personable. He really listens to people’s concerns, addresses them at an individual basis, and you will always get 1-on-1 care. I’m so grateful that he’s helped me gain back my quality of life. Anita and Liv also work here and they are both wonderful too. I would highly recommend coming here!"

  • "Starr Spine therapy has helped me so much, I couldn't hardly bend over when I first went there, and now I can pick up stuff on the floor. They are great people to be around and they really care about you and not nothing else. They are very friendly and care about what is hurting you and they want you to be better. I had back surgery and didn't get the right therapy but when I went to Starr Spine Therapy it really made a difference. My opinion they are the best."

  • "I could barely walk when I first started with Charles a few months back and now I can walk with very little pain. As a nurse and former massage therapist I'm impressed with his knowledge base and use of different modalities to help me feel better. He explains what my problem is and what he thinks will help. If something doesn't work he adjusts my program. I do my suggested exercises and feel an equal partner in my healing. I've made great progress under his care and highly recommend Charles to anyone that wants to feel better in their body no matter what the problem."

  • "I am so lucky to have been sent to Charles for my physical therapy. He is the absolute best! I has a shoulder injury at work. Battling with my employer and worker's comp was a very long, complicated process. Charles never gave up on me and worked with me to make me physically better. But he also fought for me when my doctors and worker's comp were not supporting me. He truly listened to me, even when I felt like my descriptions of what I was feeling with my shoulder sounded ridiculous. I will definitely go to Charles in the future if I need physical therapy. His assistant Anita is also amazing! She always greets everyone with a big smile. She makes you feel so welcome and at ease. I actually miss seeing them and who can say that about their physical therapist?!?!"

  • "I am so glad that I went to Starr Spine. I was experiencing extreme pain and discomfort in my tailbone area that caused me to be unable to bend over or even sit comfortably. Charles was able to relieve me from so much of the issue and educated me about what was going on and how to work on preventing it from recurring in the future. He never rushed through appointments - took his time and was very thorough. He always explained what he was doing and made sure I was comfortable with the process. I highly recommend him!"

  • "I have seen Charles off and on for the last couple of years. I have scoliosis and spinal stenosis which cannot be surgically corrected. • "Charles Starr is a professionally superb physical therapist. He listens well to his clients and works with them to achieve their goals for improved health, instead of dictating an agenda that he expects them to adhere to. My two primary goals were to decrease my arthritis neck stiffness/pain and to improve my balance. Both goals were reached, with an unexpected bonus occurring of a much lower blood sugar level due to my new daily exercise routines. Because of my increased neck flexibility I feel much safer backing up my car in parking lots and changing lanes while driving. My balance is so much better, I now feel capable of walking on uneven surfaces, without having to continuously watch the ground. As a result of having a much more confident stride, I am able to walk as fast as other people I go places with, instead of just shuffling along slowly. In my opinion Charles Starr is a 5 Starr Physical Therapist."

  • "My wife and I have known Dr Starr DPT since 2017 when he began treating my wife for her chronic back problems. His positive impact on her quality of life has been remarkable over the last 4 years. He has helped slow the progression of her intractable spine conditions by his continuing creative approaches over these years. The treatment strategies have evolved as her chronic issues have unpredictably / dynamically changed. In recent years, her treatment has changed numerous times from core strengthening to myofascial release techniques to IFC electro stimulations to combinations depending on how she feels on any given day during her twice weekly appointments. All these efforts over time have help her maintain a quality of life to as good as possible. For me, over this last year, on three separate segments of time, Dr Starr corrected nagging back and shoulder issues that had reduced my quality of life to a point that self-treatment was not working. Through concentrated / thorough examinations, he precisely diagnosed and each issue, misalignment, low core strength and range of motion problems. His treatments were primarily myofascial release techniques, active muscle energy treatments to correct misalignments (shoulder, thoracic and lumbar), and core strengthening exercises (homework). These examples of physical therapy successes have proven me a believer in his expertise so much that I have recommended his services to my friends. Dr Starr is truly a seasoned veteran in his approach to simple and especially complex problems. He is tireless in his determination to improve and/or correct chronic issues makes him truly a one of a kind. Each appointment is an hour of undivided attention, no doubling up with another patient, clearly and advantage to completing a treatment plan successfully. Anyone with chronic physical pain that may or may not need surgical care should make an appointment with Dr Starr. His repertoire of skills will improve one's quality of life if at all possible. I am a living example who had physical issues that targeted PT treatments by Dr Starr successfully corrected."

  • "After surgeries to replace both hips, both shoulders and low back implants, through in-office physical therapy, Charles has me at a point of little or no pain. Having opened his own office in Grove City, which is closer to my home, care of any quirks or check-ups are closer than his previous locations. Charles has the patience of Job; he is kind and caring. "You are his number one patient." A one-on-one therapy principle for patient care makes you feel like you are his Number #1. He is Number #1 for me and can be for your wellness and recovery."

    — Jennie S.

  • "Great knowledge in his practice. Charles has great people skills and is really easy to talk to. I was his first workers comp client and he did all the leg work with the insurance companies. Extremely flexible schedule and always able to schedule of something where to come up. Great conversationalist and made it feel like I wasn’t in a therapy office. I highly recommend Starr Spine Physical Therapy and Wellness and if the service is ever needed again, he’ll be my go-to “hands” down."

  • "I chose Starr Spine with caution after a previous therapy at another site left me worse off than when I arrived! I was recovering from lower back surgery and needed core strengthening and have other conditions that impede my progress. Charles provided me with a program to work from home as well as treating me in therapy explaining each movement and its virtues. I thank Charles and Starr Spine for their professional courteous demeanor and for the progress we achieved."

    — Geoff F.

  • "Starr Spine was recommended by a very good friend. I was being treated for a severe right hamstring injury. Charles not only treated my injured hamstring, he treated the cause for my injury. He successfully realigned my right pelvis, which caused my injury. I have been treated by 4 different therapists in my life, but never by a more knowledgeable, professional, and friendly PT as Charles Starr. I would not hesitate in recommending Starr Spine to any friend or relative."
